Welcome to Quassett Lake, Woodstock CT
Maps refer to this lake as Wappaquasset Pond. Yet one can live in the town a quarter of a century and never hear it called that once. Eighty-eight acre Quassett Lake is a private lake offering boating, fishing, swimming, water skiing, tubing, and kayaking, and is located 5 minutes west of the Woodstock Fairgrounds.
The Quassett Lake District was organized to protect and maintain a unique environmental asset. Native American Indians created the lake by raising the level of a marsh pond with a dam made from stones. This private lake membership consists of property owners which surround the lake. Residents can use the lake subject to the bylaws of the association. |
